Playa Inspira 2: Gonzo Psytrance

Almost 10 years ago I recorded a mix titled Playa Inspira after a difficult and life changing year at Burning Man in 2000. This is the follow up to that. It is a retrospective of the amazing open air sets of 2009. From the Paradigm Solstice Gathering, to the Mayan Vayeb festival, to Verdandi: Bishop Castle Wacky Shack 10 year anniversary and finally the Space Elevator sunrise set at Burning Man.

I subtitled it "Gonzo Psytrance" for a few few reasons. Hunter S. Thompson is a huge inspiration and influence on me, his "Gonzo" subjective writing style requires a hands on experience. That's what this mix is. A bit of a first hand recollection for me and flashback for those who were there. This music would not have nearly the impact if we hadn't all been there together and shared it as a collective experience.
